Project 64 Week #7 Indigo

Yippee...I finally found it that elusive color I've been lookin for all week  INDIGO...Oddly enough it was right here in my studio all the time!!  (Isn't that the way it always goes?)

I started this oil painting over 2 years ago of my kids skim boarding on the beach at Point No Point.....I think it's about time I finish it!!

I now edit all my pictures in Picnik (I hope you can see the difference)...Anyway I used Panography for this one and really liked the effect!!!  What do you think?

Here's a shot of my ceramic painting desk with my Indigo plate I use for paints...I'm trying to get more chalkboard pendants done for Etsy....not to mention my Garden Gnomes would be perfect for St. Patty's day!!!

This hat I just finished...You might have seen it in my "Warm and Cozy Sunday" was still on the needles then...

Well thanks for visiting and if you haven't joined yet....Please play along it's loads of fun!!!

A Warm and Cozy Sunday

Last Sunday, the wind outside was blowing the rain sideways...... but inside my fire was keeping the place warm and cozy!!!  The kids were both, all snugged in their beds...Hubby too.....and I had the morning to myself....ahhhh....

I sat in my favorite chair, with my knitting (a hat I'm working on out of the softest Alpaca yarn), my coffee and several of my favorite art magazines and books and did what I love to a little...dream a little...and knit a little.....I was at peace with the world!

You might wonder what I read (when it's not my sons homework)....well this Sunday it was........Cloth.paper.scissors Studio magazine, it always inspires me...not just to create the perfect studio space but also the artists in the magazine give me inspiration and a creative boost of energy!!!  My "Mixed-Media  self-portraits" book by Cate Coulacos full of great ideas...some I'm planning to use with my art students....Maybe next week....
For now this is my favorite coffee cup...I just LOVE the colors in it...I got it in my stocking for Christmas...from my Mommy. :)...... Well,  I guess Sunday in my city this week was really Sunday in my home...but sometimes (most often) that's the best place to be!

Hmmmmmm.......I can hear the crackle of the fire in the living room...And I'm sure my knitting is calling me.....I hope this Sunday you too can take some time to relax reflect and enjoy a peaceful slice of life!

Project 64: Week #6 Apricot

OK...Here it is my entry for week #6 in the Project 64: Out of the Box Challenge.

Now Apricot is not a hard color for me...I love orange....any shade of the color...It just makes me HAPPY!!!  So I decide not to go with the obvious and try to find something "out side the box"...not really coming up with anything I went out in the pouring rain to grab some fire wood and then I saw it....a soaking wet piece of fir in the exact color I was looking for.......

Of course I did find apricot in other places and because she is just so lovely, I thought I'd also share with you my photo of Calico...My daughter's kitty.......Ya - I know not a very original name but Autumn was 4 when we got her.  :)

And this darling picture by one of my kindergarten art students....Pretty sweet !!!!

Anyway thanks for visiting!!!!  And join the fun:

Just Off My Needles...My New Favorite Hat!!

I finished this hat last week...Just in time too...They are forecasting snow this weekend.  :)
Anyway I was planning on sharing it with all of you....cause...quite frankly I think its a GREAT HAT!!  I took pictures and everything!!.... but still hadn't got it posted and then....

This morning I discover Tea Rose Home was having "Link Party".  It was the push I need...
So here it is my new favorite hat....

I LOVE the bill and the fact, that on bad hair days you can just stuff all your hair inside!

It was a quick easy knit, out of one of my favorite knitting books....OK I did start it last Softball season...and yes I did JUST finish but that doesn't mean it wasn't fast or easy....sometimes I just get sidetracked!!  Don't you?

The important thing to know is that I love it so much I am planning on making another....but what color?....

OPPS......Back to the details....The pattern came out of "Stitch 'N bitch Nation" and was written byShannita Williams-Alleyne.  I used Alpine Wool Yarn by Lions Brand, that I purchased at Joann's on sale so it was pretty inexpensive to make.

Check out the other great project...This is a fun link!!
