Americana Stool DIY

Yup...This is my 3rd post in one week...Pretty amazing for me...
The thing is....I really wanted to get this stool up before the forth of July!!
So here it is....

I just finished it yesterday ....Possibly a little late to sell for the 4th....but I feel "Americana" is...Summertime...Rodeo's....Country Roads....and Red Necks... Not just 4th of July!!!!
Are ya with me?!?!

Anyway...It was a pretty strait forward design...
The first thing I did was paint the stripes...Using Painters tape to keep them strait...
Then I rummaged threw all my craft supplies, just to discover...I didn't have any star shaped stamps or stencils...nothing!
Can you believe that??

I even called a "crafty" girl friend and she too...came up with nothing...(Not very patriotic of either of us)!  So I headed off to Walmart so see what they had (making my 15 year old drive...Can't believe she's already in Drivers Ed).  Anyway they did have stencils and after a good sanding...the rest is history...American History...Ha Ha....

That's it for now...I hope your 4th is a BLAST!!

Autumn created this independence day sign for my shop space...
It turned out so cute I just had to share it!

Here it is in my little space at Viking Village...just LOVE all the reds together!!
To be honest...red doesn't sell well....
But I like the look anyway!!

Isn't the little chair cute??
And I LOVE the bowling bag!!!
Well that's it for now...just a quick little share.  :)
BUT
I have a lot more going on so...including a Vintage Suitcase turned Table and a darling Trash to Treasure Dresser...!!

So stay tuned!!!

Pretty in Pink Altered Bottle plus Galvanized Pitcher

Just thought I'd share my first "Altered Bottle"...Not as fancy as some of the ones I've seen on Pinterest.....But I'm happy with it!

I also decoupaged the frog and the butterfly onto this galvanized pitcher that I picked up "thriftin" one day...

Of Course both images came from The Graphic Fairy....

French Garden Table

Wow...What a whirlwind week I had...I guess you could say that for the last month!!  My son Garret, graduated from High school on Friday...Heavy Sigh!!
We had a huge party for him yesterday...It was so much fun!!!  I thank God everyday for my wonderful friends and family!!

Anyway....that's another post for another day...Today I'm going to share this little table I picked up at a garage sale.  I'm sure it had a glass center at one time, but when I found it, there was a piece of unfinished wood instead....That made my job so easy.  :)

I painted it with some homemade chalk paint and then grabbed a stencil I had purchased online at Etsy here:
They have some wonderful stencil and I'm always happy when I can send a fellow "Etsyian" some love!  :)

I also added a couple of stamps, just for fun...
Painted  two protective coats of polyacrlic and sent it down to the shop....
That's it for now...but I'm back and have a ton of goodies to share...so do keep in touch!! :)

Shop Pics and More Burlap Love....

Just thought I'd share a few new things, I just added in my little space, down at Viking Village....
I'm kind-of pleased with the Parisian theme I got goin on.  :)

I'm sure you recolonize the "French Bench" or "Settee" ( I just did a post on how I refinished it).
I covered the seat with some awesome burlap fabric...

So I deiced to make an Altered Clipboard to match.
Can you believe I found some burlap looking paper?  :)
Of course the writing wasn't in french so...

I added a couple of my favorite prints from The Graphic Fairy...
Just to make it look a little more Frenchy.

I also made an bulletin board from an old frame that I painted white, then Shabbied up...
using left over fabric from the settee to cover the board.

Here it sitting on the table I picked up at that awesome barn sale...

I have been trying to layer more down at the shop...
Using ideas I've picked up on pinterest and many of your lovey blogs...

I do think I'm getting better.
Anyway that's it for now
Two more weeks till my son graduates High School...I better get back to work....YIKES!!
