"POT HEADS"...

Just thought I'd give you a peek at what I pulled out of my kiln, the other day...This was a fun project we did at my son's school...of course at school, they don't call them pot heads...not politically correct ya know! :0
I LOVE the eyes on this one!! Cool Robot Best Friends and a "Piggy Pot Head"
Too Cute!! Check out the pierced ears! The plants are Air Plants ... you simply plant them in gravel and mist them with a spray bottle to water them...pretty easy..pretty cool!! I even found a shop on Etsy that sells them Augury, Air Plants and More...

Team Tie Dye - 4 Mile Walk, in Beat the Bridge for JDRF

Sunday, Autumn and her team did the 4 mile walk in Beat the Bridge to raise money for Juvenal Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Team Tie Dye, posing for a picture before the walk.
They raised over $2,500.00 and place 40th out of 100 teams ... Pretty darn good for a our first timeThe walk went threw the University of Washington's campus.
Kory, Emma, (our youngest walker) Autumn and Eva stop and pose by the fountain. The finish line
Autumn is so lucky to have such a great group of friends!! We thank God every night for them!!
When I look back on her diabetes diagnose I realize, that God had already set in place this wonderful group of friends to help us on our journey...We are truly Blessed!!

Tie Dye Party

Autumn has put a Team together, for the 4 mile walk to benefit the Juvenal Diabetes Research Foundation ... JDRF. Her team is Team Tie Dye ... (There is still time to donate! :)
(The pot full of tie dye t-shirts)
On Sunday the kids got together to die their T- Shirts for Team Tie Dye....It was great fun and we ended up with some beautiful t-shirts!!

We did the T's the way I always have...although for some this was a first.

HERE IS HOW I DO IT:

Tightly Twist the T (say that 3 times fast) where you want the die Not to penetrate, then use a rubber band to secure it....These spots will be where your circles are.

Then put it in the first die bath...I do it on my stove and almost boil the water.

The color tends to fade so make sure the color is nice and dark before you take them out!!

Rinse until water is clear.

Take off bands and re twist.....adding new circles (these will stay the color of your first die bath).

Put in second Die bath

Rinse and TA-DA your done!

REMEMBER TO WASH SEPARATELY THE FIRST FEW TIMES YOU WASH THEM!!

Simplicity Photo Challenge: What Makes Me Happy

This weeks Photo Challenge from Simplicity is so fun!!! The challenge title is "What makes me Happy"...now for the great part...It has to be taken with a camera phone!! The idea being, is that your phone is the one camera you always have with you. :) It's true!! My cell phone is old but it is always with me!!

Anyway I LOVE this picture!! It makes me giggle every time I look at it!! It was a hot summer day at Point No Point (yes, that truly is the name of the beach...it even has a light house) The girls dug a hole and then the boys buried them in it... :0 Of course, Carson had to pose and show off his muscles...I think he is flexing in every picture I have of him!! The Beach and Kids make me very HAPPY!

Friday Night at the Races

(Garrets car with the wings)
Wow...What an incredible night we had at Demning Speedway.....For those of you that don't know...my son, Garret races 600 Micro Sprints there.....(Check out his blog 3G Racing)!! Anyway we started out with much anticipation .....it was the "None-Wing Show...Most the year the cars run with wings on the top and the front...this helps hold them to the track and gives them more control......When you take the wings off you can really see who the good drivers are!! (Garret and I, in the "Pits")
And guess what it was my son!!! Of course I already knew that....But now everyone else does too!! (OK, OK,...I admit it I'm bragging, but it feels Soooo Good) He was passing cars on the out side and taking them two at a time!!! People in the stands were pointing at him and cheering!!! I mean ..... these are people we don't even know. I should have videoed it, but I just sat there, in AWE ...OK OK that's not true either: I screamed a lot (although all I can ever say is: GO-GO-GO)!!! Even the announcers were talking about him...he truly was the car to watch!! Now for the BUMMER .......it started to rain and they canceled the A main......Like I said - Bummer...we just packed up our things and headed home....
When we stopped a a gas station to refuel and get goodies for the long drive home ...Three guys came up to him, and said: "Great Driving Dude"...or something like that, when I asked Garret who they were he said "I have no idea".....I smiled and thought to myself "more fans".....it was a good night!!!!
