Ranunculus Love and Finding Your Happy Place

The other morning I came to work with a weary attitude...the weekend had been a wild rush of last minute orders for boutonnieres and corsages (the High School Tolo was on Saturday).
We made 70 and over half of them were ordered the day before and the morning of the dance...
YIKES...I had not scheduled for that!
Thank goodness I have a positive crew and some good friends that jumped in to help!!

During the craziness of it all, we got in the most beautiful ranunculus and I just wanted to play with them...
but there was no time...

So when I walked into work early Monday morning I was pleased to see there were still a few left...

Even though I had a long list of "to dos" I gave myself permission to do one little arrangement first.

Nothing cures the back to work blues like making an arrangement!!

I could feel my heart lighten as I carefully sniped stems and placed them into the sweet little vase I had picked out.  First the ranunculus, then the rice flower...not quite there...yes wax flower is what it was asking for...

I had found my happy place.

I priced it, placed it on the shelf  and gave it a little smile, as I happily started my to do list.

After a conference call I zipped up the stairs looking forward to visiting my happy little arrangement...but alas...
It was already gone...I don't even know who bought it.  :(

Sooo...

I made another.
This time adding some statice and using a bit larger vase....
and it sold...

So I made one adding tulips and dusty miller around the base...I love it's soft gray color.
Well that one disappeared too...

Apparently I wasn't the only one in need of a sweet little arrangement.

:)

Till next time...

Here's to you finding your happy place in a world full of to-dos and commitments!

I didn't plant any ranunculus this year and now I'm sorry because I would love to create a beautiful bouquet like yours.

    1. I bought some potted ones...but I'm not sure if they will come back next year...They will always come back at your local floral shop. :)

  4. Easy to see why they sold quickly Denise. Ranunculus are one of my most favorite spring flowers. Remind me of a small Peony. You did an amazing job on all three arrangements! Thanks for sharing them with SYC.

  6. There is something so 'special' about runnunculus...they hold in all that lucious brilliance not like a rose all lose and open...and they keep so well. Love them and your bouquets are clearly customer's favorites and gorgeous. Grins, thanks for sharing, Sandi
