Thrifty Finds

I went out "Garage Selling" on Friday and just had to share my AWESOME FINDS....Sigh

To be honest it didn't start out that well.  The first place I hit was already picked over and it had some great vintage things...I was there right at 8:00 but I guess I should have showed up early.  (I have a hard time doing that...If they say 8 I don't mind being a little early but it doesn't seem polite to be too early).

Anyway the third place I hit opened at 9:00 and I just happened to drive by as they were putting the sign up...It was a long dirt drive and no one would have found it with out signage.....

Being the first makes all the difference!

Look at all my goodies...

And to be honest this isn't all of it.  I forgot to put the decoys and the  books in my first photo....

I didn't take an individual  picture of it...but look at the wire shopping basket.  I'm to going to line it with fabric....Can't wait!!!

I got two typewriters the blue one is my favorite!!  I LOVE the Mid Century Modern shape!!! And it's in great condition...Do I have to sell it?

This baby's a bit older.....It's gray with green keys and has a cool leather covered case.

Check out this way cool, green Train Case (I have such a thing for vintage suitcases)!  Anyway it's in awesome condition...I just had to glue the lining in a couple spots but other than that it is down right perfect!!!  Again I want to keep it!  :)

Do you know what those green things are we found in it?  Neither did I, but the family had a great time guessing!  In the end Garret and Drew were the ones who figured it out ...They're shoe stretchers....

I also got two TV Trays with stand.  :)

Found these knives in a basket of silverware I purchased...

And here's one of the Decoys.  I come from a long family of duck hunters,,,My dad would have loved these!!  They came in a burlap grain sack that I will use elsewhere.

Well...How about you any great find lately?  I would love to here about them!!

Thrifty Finds in Shades of Autumn

Thought I'd share with all of you my "Thrifty Finds" from the other day...

Autumn had a Volley Ball Tournament this Saturday so I went out "Garage Selling" early Friday Morning...

I just love the skeleton block print...It's titled "Waiting for the perfect man"  HA HA

I hit about 7 Garage Sales but only bought at 3 of them....

And it seems that everything I gathered up went dang great together!!...

Must have been my subconscious because I didn't plan it that way.

Here they are down at Viking Village...I think the Fox playing cards would be perfect in a collage!

The fabric is a wool lovely wool quilt top....It's so cozy....Maybe someone will finish it!  :)

My favorite piece is the plaid cooler in the back...I wanted to use it for Auto's volley ball game but I bit the bullet and brought it down to the shop instead.  :(

Everything is sitting on a way cool Vintage Trunk, that another vender owns right outside my space (It even has the original key)!.... 

Anyway it was Sooo nice of her to let me put my display on it!!!

Garage Sale Find...Worth "Braggin" about!

Oh my Gosh...I hate to brag...(Ok it really is fun now and then)...but look what I got a Garage sale for...

Drum Roll Please!

Only $1:00

Ya...That's right I got this TOTALLY AWESOME CHAIR for ONE DOLLOR!!!  :):):)

I also got those four wooden (Couch) feet for $1:00.

I was planing in using them on another doggy bed...but wouldn't the make great pumpkins?

Hmmm....What to do - What to do?



How would you know it's me if there wasn't a chicken in at least one picture?



The metal plant stand was .25...I use them to add height in my garden and patio...

I slipped the one in the background as an example...It holds a concrete pot I made, planted with Basil.

He may be 17 but my kid is no different than yours...He thought the photo shoot would be better with him and a few critters in it...He was probably right!  :)

I added theses two pictures to show you the detail on the chair...I LOVE the acorn and the oak leaf on the arm!!

Ok...Here's the funny part...I paid $2:00 for the Frog Planter...They were asking $4:00...Go figure!?!
