Suitcase Display Table

Hi There...Here's a  little Table I made to use as a display at my vintage shows...
Of course I put a price tag on it too...I believe in selling everything...Well almost!
Anyway...

What do you think??

I got a plant stand at an estate sale with the sole purpose of using it to make a suitcase table.  The top of it was too small to hold much of anything anyway.

The original plan was to screw the suitcase on top but it would have ruined the inside lining...
So we decided to glue it on instead...Thus far it's held just fine...but I am careful not to pick it up by the suitcase..instead I grab the stand (that way I don't pull the case off).

I wasn't loving the color of the suitcase but I still kind-of hated to paint the whole thing...I like to leave a glimpse of what things were in the past...does that make sense?
Sooo...
I decoupaged the top with scrapbook paper...

 And stamped the sides....
Trying to give it a travel theme...
After all it is a suitcase!  :)

Here it is full of my fingerless gloves.

Another shot with burlap items...and at the show....

It did it's job very nicely...
Both the pumpkins and the gloves sold out.  :)

Suitcase Side Table...(The perfect place to store knitting)!

You probably already know, I have a love for all things vintage...With that being said; one of my very favorites (for now, at least)... is the Vintage Suitcase!  I think it all started with a pair I got form my dad...I store my half finished Christmas Stockings in them.  :)
Anyway I got this "lovey", free at a rummage sale...can you believe that...free!
Made my day!!!

I also got an old glass top coffee table with the glass missing for free.
They both sat around for far too long...until one day a light bulb went off in that little head of mine....

I took the legs off the table and tossed the top...(It was ugly anyway).
I then went down to Home Depot and purchased some bolts, because...some where along the way, I lost the ones that had been taken off...

My husband then bolted them on to the bottom of the case and
 TA-DA

A lovey new (well kind-of) side table.

I think the legs  match the Suitcase perfectly...Don't you?

Now it is ready to do double duty...as a side or end table, as well as an awesome place to store things...maybe your knitting, or some extra books and a cosy blanket...Hmmm...
What would you store in it?

Denise  :)

I will be linking to many of the parties on my side bar...Do check them out!!
