Project 64...Week #5

Project 64's color for this week is Gray....I think I'll call it "Pacific Northwest Gray"...Cause this color is everywhere...especially in the winter time!!!   Just look at our sky...the trees...the bay..the garden....

Project 64 "Out of the Box" Week #4 Robin Egg Blue

Here it is my entry for Project 64 week #4....ROBIN EGG BLUE...(and I'm getting it in in time..ok maybe it the last day but I stll did it...on time)!!  I searched all over for this color...there are a lot of blues out there but not a lot of "Robin Egg Blue"...I was wishing it was early summer because we always find tiny little shells from the robins nest and of course they are the perfect color....but with no chance of that......I searched.......found the color in one of my scarfs...but the photo wasn't to interesting....

And then I glanced over at my window where - low and behold on a clay bird house I made years ago... was just the color I was looking for....

This was one of my first clay projects...we had to make a coil pot in a Parks and Recs class I was taking and I decide to turn mine into a bird house...)I use it for a book end on my widow sill).

I now teach for Parks and Rec...It's funny how things go full circle!

Anyway come join the fun...This really is a great project!!

Cashmere Gloves

Just thought I'd share a few new things in my Etsy shop...It's been a great winter for finding second hand cashmere sweaters...by great I mean ...I've probably come up with about 6 of them...but that's still pretty good for 100% cashmere!!! Anyway.....

Green Cashmere Gloves

I love this green!!!!! I'm not sure if I was more excited to turn it into a stocking or use the sleeves to make my fingerless gloves.... but because its not really Christmas stocking season I started with the gloves. ;) Although - I can see it as a fabulous Christmas stocking...and wouldn't the left overs make great stockings for an elf or maybe a scarf on a snowman??Hmmmm what ever shall I do?

Spring Hearts and Blue Birds

OK - These gloves aren't really cashmere at all....They are a wool angora blend but still super soft...and a probably a little more durable....I just thought the design was so fun a "springy" I just need to show them off.

Pink Cashmere Gloves Here's another cashmere pair... in a very "Happy Pink"...I made these gloves just a little bit longer so they would look great come spring with a short sleeve tee or even a tank top!

The body of all these sweaters will be turned into Christmas stockings as the months tick by each one coming together as an unique piece of art....

A very busy week!

Wow...Last week was wild...ok maybe not really wild but VERY BUSY!!! I started a new job..It's seasonal work at a friends nursery and I love it!!! At the same time my "Knitting Support" class that I teach for Parks and Rec. began it's winter session and it was the second week of the kids art class I teach for the little guys....On top of that I had to run to Children's Hospital on Saturday to pick up more Diabetes supplies for Autumn....Did I mention I now head up the Nursery at my church?

So why am I telling you all of this...you might ask????

Because I never got a chance to hook up to Project 64 color "Chestnut" for last week and I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS!!!

So I decide to go ahead and post my picture even though it's to late to link up.

This was my Dads suitcase and I love the warm "Chestnut Brown" color!!

The best part is that it still has his name and handwriting on the tags....He passed away 2 years ago and I still miss him each and every day! ! :(

LOVE YA DAD!!! This week color is "Robin Egg Blue...Hopefully I"ll get this color up in time....Why don't you join me....It's way fun!!!

Joining Project 64: Carnation Pink

Hi everyone, I've been looking for inspiration to get back into blogging and just didn't know where or how to start...Then I came across Project 64 ...I could hardly wait to get going!!! This is such a cool idea...once a week they pull a crayon out of a box of 64 and that is the color you use in your picture for that week.....

Poppies, The Play House and Picnik

Earlier this year, Autumn planted poppy seeds in a flower bed by the playhouse...She got this giant seed pod from some sweet lady at Seattle's Pike Place Market last winter....but before I could help, she had put all the seeds into this one smallish flower bed.... The poppies are sooo crowed, but on the upside, they are a LOVELY shade of purple and match the playhouse beautifully!

Inspired by Chelsea at cfisherphotography (Thank you very much!) I became a premium member at Picnik and have had some much fun editing my photos!! :) I used the first photo and Hypnotic in the Create section, for the photo above, (go to Create then Effects then click on sandbox effects then finally Hypnotic and Wa-la...cool kaleidoscope effect!)

Here's a collage I created...Love to do them!!!

The bench was painted with Fusion paint for plastics...We also painted our lounge chairs by the pool in the same periwinkle color....spray paint's my friend !!! ;0
